Training

Every Youth Deserves a Trained Leader!

Baden-Powell, our founder, called Scouting a "game with a purpose." Kids are attracted by the "game" portions--outdoor activities and just plain fun. But our ultimate purpose is to help youth grow in citizenship, character, and mental, moral and physical fitness. Our effectiveness as adult leaders depends on how well we understand the aims and methods of the program.

Training will help you accomplish these goals, plus provide you with resources, ideas and fellowship.

So how can you find this information? We're offering a lot of new and exciting training - when you need it and where you need it.

If you were to check the training calendar, there are approximately 150 training sessions presently scheduled and we're planning more. Training is becoming more modularized and more frequent to meet your needs. Opportunities range from short introductions to Scouting in general to intensive high-adventure instruction which will lead to safe, exciting outings.

You don't have to attend the training in your own district. Training is standardized across the council, so no matter where or when you take it, you'll receive the same excellent course. So, check the Council calendar to find a session that fits your schedule, and take it NOW!
